Pacific Palisades, CA
Courtney grew up in Chicago and was lured to the beautiful California weather to attend Stanford University. After graduating with an A.B. in English Literature, Courtney moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in advertising. After a few years, Courtney decided to get her MBA in Marketing at The Anderson School at UCLA. Courtney and her husband, Marty, met in southern France and were married after Courtney graduated from UCLA. They decided it would be best for Courtney to devote her time to raising their 3 kids, especially as Marty's job took them to many locations including Chicago, Santa Fe, and London. Marty's job ultimately landed them in Los Angeles in 2005. Courtney's entrepreneurial spirit and desire to give back to the community has been instrumental in her starting 3 businesses of her own and committing to countless volunteer hours while raising the kids. After a mini "mid-life" health crisis in 2015, Courtney's interest in health and wellness started her journey to help others achieve their optimal wellness. Courtney is a certified Health Coach and works with clients to educate them on the benefits of nourishing their body with food, love, exercise and gratitude
Q & A
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Being a mother has always been my first priority but now my kids are older and I have so much to give! I discovered my “why” of helping others confront, embrace and work through health issues after I went through a health crisis myself. I know that this is what I am destined to do because it doesn’t feel like work!
What does success mean to you?
Success means having a positive impact on others. It’s the smile that says “I am so grateful that you understand me and helped me help myself”. It’s knowing that I am changing the course of someone’s life by holding them accountable to their dreams. The financial reward that comes with running my own business is only one of my measures of how I am impacting people.
Who inspires you?
My mother! My mom was a stay at home mom like myself and always did lots of volunteer and charity work. When she was in her 50’s, she ran for Congress and became a US Representative. I have no desire to go into politics but I have witnessed firsthand that anything is possible when you set your mind to it!
